You will also play a key role in shaping client strategies, influencing senior stakeholders, and contributing to the continued growth of a specialist risk advisory function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of market risk engagements within banking and trading environments
- Provide technical oversight on risk methodologies, including VaR, expected shortfall, sensitivities, and stress testing
- Advise clients on regulatory frameworks and capital requirements (including global and local standards)
- Design, review, and enhance market risk frameworks, models, and governance structures
- Manage and mentor teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across risk, treasury, and trading functions
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposals and thought leadership
Requirements
- Honours or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Quantitative Finance)
- 8–12+ years’ experience in market risk within financial services or advisory environments
- Deep understanding of market risk methodologies and regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record of leading client engagements and managing high-performing teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights
Advantageous
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or actuarial credentials
- Experience engaging with regulators or supporting regulatory submissions
- Exposure to programming or analytical tools (e.g. Python, R, SAS, SQL)
