Johannesburg North: Market Risk Senior Manager posted by Network Finance

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of market risk engagements within banking and trading environments
• Provide technical oversight on risk methodologies, including VaR, expected shortfall, sensitivities, and stress testing
• Advise clients on regulatory frameworks and capital requirements (including global and local standards)
• Design, review, and enhance market risk frameworks, models, and governance structures
• Manage and mentor teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across risk, treasury, and trading functions
• Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposals and thought leadership

Requirements

• Honours or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Quantitative Finance)
• 8–12+ years’ experience in market risk within financial services or advisory environments
• Deep understanding of market risk methodologies and regulatory frameworks
• Proven track record of leading client engagements and managing high-performing teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights

Advantageous

• Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or actuarial credentials
• Experience engaging with regulators or supporting regulatory submissions
• Exposure to programming or analytical tools (e.g. Python, R, SAS, SQL)
