About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PR Manager (Europe & APAC) and Copywriter to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications or PR, with a proven track record of success in the travel and/or conservation tourism sector. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop innovative story angles, craft compelling press releases, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement PR strategies for Europe & APAC markets
- Create high-quality press releases, media alerts, and other marketing materials
- Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in the travel and conservation tourism sectors
- Source new business opportunities and identify potential partnerships
- Collaborate with internal teams to create collateral required for external communications
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or PR Communications
- 10 years of experience in corporate communications or PR, with at least 3 years in the travel and/or conservation tourism sector
- Wide knowledge of the safari industry and luxury tourism
- Exposure to a range of different marketing channels, both offline and online
