Job Description

Hire Resolve’s client is a leading manufacturing organization in Gauteng specializing in the production of high-quality goods. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Agent to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet manufacturing requirements, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing the best pricing and terms for materials, equipment, and services.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing, and industry best practices.
Evaluate supplier performance through vendor assessments and regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts, and proactively address any potential supply chain disruptions.
Manage the purchase order process, including reviewing requests, selecting suppliers, and negotiating terms and conditions to optimize supplier performance and minimize costs.
Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to maximize working capital efficiency while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging these partnerships to continuously improve quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure contract terms and conditions are adhered to and manage any supplier disputes or performance issues as they arise.
Stay updated on industry trends, attend conferences, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance procurement knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
At least 3 years of proven experience working as a procurement agent in the manufacturing industry.
In-depth understanding of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Written and Verbal) in both English and Afrikaans
Proficient in using procurement software and systems.
Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations, customs procedures, and import/export processes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Must have a valid SA drivers license.
