About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client, a leading manufacturing organization in Gauteng specializing in high-quality goods, is seeking an experienced Procurement Agent to join their team. With a strong focus on sustainability and ethical practices, they aim to deliver exceptional products and services to their customers while maintaining a commitment to responsible supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet manufacturing requirements, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing the best pricing and terms for materials, equipment, and services.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing, and industry best practices.
Evaluate supplier performance through vendor assessments and regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts, and proactively address any potential supply chain disruptions.
Manage the purchase order process, including reviewing requests, selecting suppliers, and negotiating terms and conditions to optimize supplier performance and minimize costs.
Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to maximize working capital efficiency while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging these partnerships to continuously improve quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure contract terms and conditions are adhered to and manage any supplier disputes or performance issues as they arise.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
At least 3 years of proven experience working as a procurement agent in the manufacturing industry.
In-depth understanding of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Written and Verbal) in both English and Afrikaans.
