Contract Position – Maternity Cover Definition: Sourcing, negotiating and buying of goods, materials, and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements Purpose: Procurement clerks are responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials, supplies, equipment, and services that their company needs to operate. They commonly work with vendors, suppliers, and other third-party service providers to ensure that they’re getting the best possible value on everything Procurement clerks may also be tasked with tracking inventory levels, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Key Duties and responsibilities: Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion. Ensure timely deliveries of all goods and services. Communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations. Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders. Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules at best price & GRV Ensure System is updated and accurate at all times Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders. Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and Supplier agreements. Matching Quotes, purchase orders, GRV with invoices and other documentation to ensure that all purchases have been recorded correctly and save on SharePoint Timeously.
