Job Description

A highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner and Coordinator is required to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the paint manufacturing processes. This dual-role position is crucial for maintaining optimal raw material inventory levels, coordinating production schedules and ensuring the timely delivery of high quality specialized coatings. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between supply chain / procurement and manufacturing, driving efficiency and cost effectiveness. This role manages the administration function for the production line Key Responsibilities Production Coordination Scheduling : Plan and manage the daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet sales forecasts and customer demand, optimizing resource and capacity utilization. Works order Processing : Create works orders based on requirements for orders and stock level maintenance and completion of works orders after production. Workflow Management : Monitor production processes, ensuring adherence to the schedule and resolving any issues or bottlenecks that arise in the manufacturing process. Quality & Standards: Collaborate with the Quality Control department to maintain strict quality standards throughout the production cycle, ensuring all batches meet formulation specifications. Reporting: Prepare and analyse production reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like output, efficiency and waste, and suggesting areas for continuous improvement. Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to paint and chemical manufacturing. Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a production coordination, preferably within a chemical, paint, FMCG or process manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) or similar for inventory management and production planning. Must have matric and tertiary education beneficial. Individuals who apply should live on the East Rand Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external communication with production staff, management and vendors. Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in recordkeeping, PO processing, and inventory tracking.
