About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist to join our client’s team in Sedibeng District Municipality, Gauteng. As a key member of the quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and approve or reject incoming raw materials and components in accordance with company specifications.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards using inspection tools and defined parameters.
- Conduct detailed inspections of finished products, documenting outcomes and collaborating with production teams to handle non-conformities.
- Implement and maintain statistical control methods to prevent and detect defects throughout production.
- Maintain and update quality control records including technical data sheets, inspection reports, and certificates of conformity.
- Assist in internal audits related to hygiene and food safety systems.
- Support company certification initiatives to ensure processes and outputs align with regulatory and industry standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by addressing quality deviations and supporting corrective action plans.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners, ensuring transparency and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Qualification in Quality Management, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in quality control or assurance, preferably in the food production or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience with machinery relating to bottle caps, bottle closures, corks, and crowns (metal or plastic).
