About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. This role has a direct impact on how customers access credit, how portfolio risk is managed, and how strategic lending objectives are achieved, while ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal risk appetite. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and enhancing collections and behavioral models supporting Personal Loans and Overdraft portfolios, as well as presenting clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and enhance collections and behavioral models supporting Personal Loans and Overdraft portfolios.
- Analyze business performance against defined risk appetite and present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Identify portfolio trends, emerging risks, and optimization opportunities through in-depth analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
- Partner with operational and business stakeholders throughout model development, system changes, and strategy implementation.
- Increase efficiency through automation and programming of analytical processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through structured documentation, governance processes, and engagement with relevant external bodies.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- Postgraduate qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science (Preferred)
- Professional designation or progress toward ASSA, PRM, FRM, or CQF (Preferred)
