Johannesburg: Quantity Surveyor (Roadworks) posted by Hire Resolve

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in roadworks to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the quantity surveying process for roadworks projects, including estimating, cost control, valuation of work done, and final account preparation.

Responsibilities:

– Conduct cost estimates for roadworks projects, including material costs, labor costs, and equipment costs
– Monitor project costs and budget throughout the construction process
– Prepare and submit interim valuations of work done on roadworks projects
– Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients, contractors, and subcontractors
– Manage variations and claims for roadworks projects
– Provide regular cost reports and financial updates to project team and senior management
– Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors on quantity surveying matters
– Provide support and guidance to site teams on quantity surveying issues

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, specifically in roadworks projects
– Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs related to roadworks
– Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Detail-oriented and highly organized
– Professional accreditation from a recognized institution is a plus
