Job Description

Objective of the Role: The purpose of the role is to work collaboratively within your team and across other teams in the business to deliver exceptional customer experiences.  Key Responsibilities: Business analysis: Scope definition and/or gap analysis for features as prioritized by the Blueprint Committee or the Change Prioritisation Committee. Identification of key stakeholders who are required to ensure thorough and accurate analysis. Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with stakeholders across the business to define detailed business requirements and business rules with the aim of distinguishing user requests from true business needs. Business process definition using BPMN to ensure that the Operations team are enabled to create the required Standard Operating Procedures. Identification of risks and issues and raising these timeously with the Project Managers. Collaborate with technical leads, Solution Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical solution and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs. Systems analysis in collaboration with stakeholders and technical resources to document detailed functional requirements. Brief business and functional requirements to the technical and development teams in preparation for development sprints. Review and validation of developed solution to ensure that it fulfills all the specified requirements. Handovers to the test team for functional and user acceptance testing. Review the test plan and test scripts to ensure quality and coverage of all requirements. Supporting business transition and helping establish change through: Drafting solutions documentation and creating demo videos. Conducting solution walkthroughs with business stakeholders as well as IT support. Working closely with the Change Manager to develop a communication and information plan. Adherence to the business analysis methodology and guidelines, i.e., application of toolkits, software and agreed outputs. Creating and maintaining a repository of reusable and repeatable content as part of analysis activities. Assist in mentoring and training new team members in knowledge of products, processes, and systems. Assist in production support to solve incidents or document change requests in conjunction with the IT and Business operational teams. Ways of working: Work under general direction within a clearly defined accountability framework, i.e., the Group Investment Platform’s SDLC and project ways of working. Ensure regular and consistent updates of artefacts on JIRA and Confluence. Attendance of project standups and delivery meetings. Work on multiple deliverables at any one time, each with its own delivery path and phase in the SDLC. Work closely with the project manager to define timelines. Monitor feature progress by tracking activity, removing blockers to delivery, and resolving defects. Work closely with internal Group-wide teams and external teams and vendors to deliver a successful outcome. Minimum Qualifications Required: Relevant Commerce degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Investment Management or Business Management or equivalent Business Analysis certification/qualification would receive preference Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Visio), with MS Excel at least at intermediate level. JIRA and Confluence experience would be advantageous.  Experience: At least 8 years of business analysis experience in the Financial Services Industry within finance projects environment. Experience in Agile projects Business process definition experience, to ensure optimal business performance Operating Model analysis and design experience e.g. using UML or BPM Experience in working with a third-party platform vendor Experience in solving complex problems for customers (internal or external). Experience in building successful relationships and working collaboratively across departmental teams. Experience at working in a fast paced, proactive and delivery focused environments. Experience in analyzing large data sets across different systems and identifying key attributes that can be used to derive logic from e.g. matching transactions. Experience with financial business requirements e.g. general ledger or payment systems would be an advantage Experience of user experience or online webpage requirements would be an advantage  Knowledge Required: A successful candidate will show: A deep understanding of investment and life products (to subject matter expert level) in order to talk about investments confidently. An understanding of financial services regulation as it relates to investment platform providers. An understanding of platform products and operations. A good understanding of the IT architectural landscape and system integration Understanding or experience creating systems for Financial Advisers. A clear understanding of the competitive landscape for our platform. A strong understanding of change management processes. A broad enterprise-wide view of the end to end business and a relevant degree of appreciation for strategy, processes and capability, enabling technologies and governance. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 57 years experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Proven experience in end-to-end business analysis in complex environments. Strong experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration. Strong experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments Proficient in process mapping using BPMN 2.0 methodology Experience in the mining industry. Understanding of mining value chains, operational systems, and safety-critical applications. Enterprise Asset Management (EAM): Demonstrated knowledge of the full asset lifecycle including acquisition, commissioning, maintenance, optimisation, and disposal with familiarity in supporting or implementing EAM systems to enhance reliability, compliance, and performance. Financial and Procurement Awareness: Working knowledge of the financial and commercial dimensions of asset management, including Capex and Opex considerations, as well as integration of procurement and supply chain processes into asset lifecycles Key Responsibilities: Lead and drive the business analysis process for strategic and operational initiatives. Elicit, document, and manage business, functional, and non-functional requirements. Translate business requirements into clear, detailed specifications for technical teams. Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to define and prioritise business needs. Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, solution architects and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle. Support user acceptance testing and change management processes. Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.

At least 3 years’ experience in Agile Projects Working knowledge of (OAS) Open API specification 2.0 and 3.0 Able to read and interpret JSON and XML files Able to understand and work using the Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach for new requirements that require development. Qualification Formal qualification such as a B. About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to work across complex, multi-domain environments within FinTech / Insurance / retirement investment platforms. You will play a critical role in gathering and translating business requirements, optimizing processes, supporting regulatory and compliance initiatives, and ensuring technology solutions align with strategic business objectives. This role is ideal for Business Analysts who thrive in fast-paced, data-driven environments and have a solid understanding of financial products, investment platforms, policy administration, digital channels, and large-scale technology projects. Key Responsibilities Requirements Gathering & Analysis Conduct detailed business requirements elicitation using interviews, workshops, process mapping, and data analysis. Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Analyse and document current-state and future-state business processes across financial, insurance, and investment product domains. Facilitate alignment across product, technology, compliance, and operational teams. Solution Design & Delivery Support Partner with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to define solution options and assess business impact. Support system design reviews, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure system changes meet business rules, regulatory requirements, and product governance standards. Provide traceability across requirements, processes, test cases, and business outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Lead cross-functional collaboration with product managers, developers, QA teams, compliance, operations, and senior stakeholders. Present findings, recommendations, and documentation to business and technical audiences. Drive alignment between business goals and technical capabilities to support strategic initiatives. Mentor junior Business Analysts and contribute to business analysis maturity within the organisation. Requirements & Qualifications Must-Have Skills 5–8 years as a Business Analyst within FinTech, Insurance, Investments, Wealth Management, or LISP environments. Strong understanding of financial products, investment processes, fund rules, and policy administration systems. Proven experience writing user stories, use cases, business rules, functional requirements, and process maps (BPMN). Proficient with BA and project tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, LucidChart. Strong data analysis skills (Excel, SQL basics, dashboards, trend analysis). Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) delivery environments. Excellent documentation skills and ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise deliverables. Highly Desirable Skills Experience with LISP administration systems, wealth systems, investment platforms, or insurance policy engines. Background in regulatory or compliance-driven projects (FAIS, FICA, POPIA, TCF). Exposure to APIs, integrations, digital onboarding, workflow automation, or customer portals. Knowledge of business process re-engineering (BPR), operational optimisation, or product lifecycle management. Strong stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and cross-team facilitation skills. Experience with data-driven BA, reporting, or BI tools Education: Bachelor’s degree, higher certificate, or diploma in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Finance / Investments, Business Management, or a related field. Certifications (Beneficial but not required): CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis) IIBA-AAC (Agile Analysis Certification) PSPO or CSPO (Product Owner Certification) BPMN Certification SAFE/Agile Certifications (SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner) RE5 / Wealth Management or Insurance industry qualifications Additional Information Contract Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of renewal) Salary: Negotiable Location Options: Johannesburg / Cape Town / Remote Eligibility: Must be located in South Africa or have a valid South African work permit

Expect to lead stories, propose solutions, and coordinate roadmaps across multi-disciplinary teams. Your role includes business case development, facilitating communication, assisting with UX redesigns, and contributing to technical documentation. This is a hands-on position where your ideas shape real-world solutions. Skills & Experience: Minimum 56 years in web UX, e-commerce, or similar environments Strong systems/business analysis experience Ability to query data sources Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and database technologies Understanding of Web Accessibility and UX principles Qualification: Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field Experience with consumer-facing organisations Contact LIZAAN BUNNING on
