About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our quantitative team, you will play a critical role in developing and validating complex credit risk models for provisioning and regulatory capital purposes. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients and collaborate with experienced professionals to drive business growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review credit risk models for IFRS 9 provisioning and regulatory capital purposes
- Assist with coding, automation, and the enhancement of financial risk management models
- Apply contemporary statistical techniques and best practices in credit risk modelling
- Support the training and mentoring of junior team members
- Contribute to a collaborative coaching culture where constructive challenge and knowledge-sharing are encouraged
Requirements
- Strong understanding of credit risk modelling methodologies and statistical techniques
- Ability to read, write, and interpret code (experience with Python, R, or SAS is advantageous)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven, resilient, and highly motivated
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Honours or Masters degree in a quantitative discipline (such as Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar)
