About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Tax Advisory to join our specialist advisory team in Johannesburg. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse tax matters, including corporate structuring, interpretation of legislation, and cross-border tax considerations. As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to develop your expertise in both local and international tax matters while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing technical tax opinions, advisory memorandums, and client correspondence
- Interpreting tax legislation and analysing case law to develop sound advisory positions
- Assisting with complex corporate tax and cross-border advisory matters
- Participating in client engagements and providing practical tax solutions
- Preparing presentations and advisory documentation for both internal and external stakeholders
- Conducting technical research on tax developments and regulatory changes
- Supporting senior professionals on complex advisory engagements
- Maintaining accurate time records and assisting with engagement administration where required
Requirements
- Law Degree or CA(SA) qualification
- If CA(SA): HDip in Tax or relevant tax-related coursework is advantageous
- 2-3 years experience within a corporate tax or tax advisory environment
- Experience gained within a law firm, accounting firm, or professional services environment is highly advantageous
- Exposure to tax advisory services, legislative interpretation, or opinion drafting will be strongly preferred
- Any exposure to international or cross-border tax matters will be beneficial
