About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Accountant to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations, as well as experience working with technical accounting concepts and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and interpret complex accounting rules and regulations, such as GAAP and IFRS.
- Provide guidance and support to finance and accounting teams on technical accounting issues.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
- Stay current on new accounting standards and regulations and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting software or systems.
- Monitor and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Support management in making informed financial decisions based on technical analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-accounting professionals.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
