About the Role
Our client is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager to lead the technical project delivery of complex enterprise application systems in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional resources, monitoring project risks and issues, and ensuring that project costs remain within business case.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify execution of all steps in SDLC
- Act as master for their project or work stream
- Coordinate across many cross functional project resources
- Monitor and report on all project risks and issues
- Facilitate the establishment of a project steerco and drive the process through established channels
- Oversee that project costs remain within business case
- Collaborate with architects to design business solutions by applying the right technology
- Develop and gain approval for high level delivery plans of various sized software development projects based on a set of objectives
- Assist in establishing, enabling, and improving project management and software development methodologies, procedures, governance, and policies
- Develop benefits tracking and costing on technology projects
Requirements
- 5 years experience in leading the technical project delivery of complex enterprise application systems, distributed applications, web applications, and system integration solutions.
- Using SDLC multiple development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.
- Working with technology vendors.
- Foundational experience playing a contributing role in full cycle software delivery as a business analyst, developer or quality expert – previous development experience preferred.
- Understand the capabilities of key technologies and be able to quickly assess the applicability of commercial, off the shelf technology.
- The following would be advantageous:
- System or Business Analysis experience.
- Application development experience.
- E-commerce or SOA experience.
- Process improvement experience.
- Domain expertise in financial and logistics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or business administration.
