Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Third-Party Logistics Manager within the beverage industry to join their team in Midrand, GP. The successful candidate will lead the execution of distribution plans by managing logistics operations, overseeing the Logistics Interaction Centre, and ensuring optimal cost efficiency. This includes managing owner drivers, external contractors, and transport service providers to support business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the Route to Market strategy by implementing owner driver and third-party logistics plans.
- Collaborate with Distribution Services and Warehouse Managers to optimize owner driver utilization.
- Develop and implement transportation execution plans to improve efficiency, turnaround times, and service levels.
- Address operational challenges and implement corrective actions to meet demand targets.
- Oversee the daily operations of the logistics control centre, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods.
- Monitor performance metrics, identify gaps in service provider processes, and implement necessary improvements.
- Manage owner driver budgets, monitor inventory levels, and provide input for cost-effective resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with governance policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Analyze distribution data to forecast demand, optimize transportation routes, and enhance business performance.
- Develop partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders to improve cost efficiency and process effectiveness.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, monitor carrier performance, and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct annual audits for owner drivers and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and risk protocols.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transport, Business Management, or Finance.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in logistics management, with owner driver experience as an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including government departments and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to analyze data, forecast demand, and implement strategic improvements in logistics operations.
