Our client is seeking a dynamic Assistant Credit Control Manager to support their credit function, lead a high-performance team, and contribute to strategic decision-making within a fast-paced Shared Services environment.

This role is based in Johannesburg West Rand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and approve credit applications for new and existing customers within set company mandates.
• Prepare detailed reports on overdue accounts, risk exposure, and bad debt provisions.
• Oversee the onboarding process for new customers and provide leadership to the Key Accounts team.
• Drive account rehabilitation initiatives to reduce credit risk and ensure minimal exposure.
• Compile and submit month-end close-off reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct client visits to understand business requirements, resolve challenges, and strengthen relationships.
• Contribute to the development of credit strategies for high-risk accounts and key customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key account customers, ensuring service excellence and effective debt recovery.
• Monitor and manage service level agreements to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debt.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Degree, Diploma in Credit Management, or Credit Management accreditation (ICM).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a credit control environment, preferably in a Team Leader or supervisory capacity, with exposure to corporate or key accounts.
• Solid understanding of credit and debt recovery legislation, including the NCA, CPA, liquidation processes, and business rescue procedures.
• Proven leadership ability with strong administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Results-driven with the ability to manage performance, processes, and stakeholder expectations effectively.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
B.Com Degree, Diploma in Credit Management, or Credit Management Accreditation (ICM).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Credit Control environment as a Team Leader or Supervisor, with exposure to corporate/key accounts.
Manufacturing / Mining exposure would be beneficial
SAP and Advanced Excel are non-negotiable
Strong knowledge of credit-related legislation (NCA, CPA, liquidation and business rescue proceedings).
Proven ability to manage staff and administration systems.
Results-driven with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
