About the Role
Network Contracting is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing facilities in Johannesburg West, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance teams across manufacturing facilities
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency through proactive maintenance strategies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, TPM, root cause analysis)
- Oversee CAPEX projects, including plant upgrades, installations, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), food safety standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
- Manage utilities (HVAC, boilers, compressed air, water systems) in line with industry standards
- Develop and implement engineering budgets, cost control measures, and asset management strategies
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to meet production targets
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) – advantageous
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in engineering/maintenance within food, FMCG, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards
