About the Role
The Johannesburg-based X-Ray Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our production processes. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting items using calibrated x-ray equipment, identifying defects, and reporting any substandard products to the next level of supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and capture all non-conforming items on the scrap recording system as and when a non-conforming item is detected.
- Compile daily scrap and output sheets as prescribed by the department HOD at the end of each shift worked.
- Compile and submit required production records and reports to next line of supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment) at the end of the working shift and/or any other time.
- Identify and report any unsafe work conditions to the next line in supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment).
- Inspect items using calibrated x-ray equipment, automatically selecting the program itself.
- Troubleshoot and report to the LP Casting HOD or LP Casting Technician if items do not continuously flow to the X-ray machines.
- Unstuck items stuck in the X-ray feed conveyor and/or exit conveyor.
- Compile all required process and quality documents as prescribed in Works Instructions and production control documents.
- Adhere strictly to the Health, Safety, and Environmental policy of the Company.
Requirements
- Matric with Maths & Sciences
- NDT Level II Industrial Radiography qualification
- 2-5 Years Experience in non-destructive equipment handling and practices
Qualifications
- DIN EN ISO 9712 Basic principles of radiation protection and control
