About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to lead our team of yard staff and ensure efficient daily operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, directing, and enforcing discipline among assigned staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and direct daily activities of assigned yard staff
- Enforce discipline, punctuality, and performance expectations
- Address difficult behaviour calmly and confidently without intimidation
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and allocate tasks clearly
- Monitor staff output and intervene where performance drops
- Plan upcoming tasks in advance (loading, offloading, cutting, sorting, movements)
- Anticipate bottlenecks, material access issues, and equipment requirements
- Enforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and yard protocols
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience supervising teams preferably in a yard/industrial/operations environment
- Strong leadership and people-management ability
- Not easily intimidated and able to handle difficult staff confidently
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Basic computer/administration ability (job cards, reporting, checklists)
- Clear communication in English (additional languages beneficial)
