We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Clerk of Works to oversee and ensure the quality, compliance, and safe execution of electrical and instrumentation installations on-site. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all works are carried out according to design specifications, relevant standards, and project requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify E&I works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Supervise and monitor contractors to ensure adherence to approved procedures and project schedules.

• Review and comment on test packs, drawings, and redlines, ensuring as-built documentation is accurate.

• Conduct inspections during installation, termination, and commissioning stages.

• Verify calibration certificates and conformity of instruments and equipment.

• Report any deviations or non-conformances to project management and assist in resolving issues.

• Participate in safety walks, audits, and ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and progress for reporting purposes.

• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to drive quality and productivity improvements.

Experience & Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in E&I construction supervision, inspection, or quality control within industrial, petrochemical, or energy environments.

• Strong understanding of SANS, IEC, and relevant international electrical and instrumentation standards.

• Proven experience with QA/QC procedures, loop checks, and commissioning processes.

• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

• A valid drivers licence and willingness to work on-site.
