About the Role
The Rewinder Operator is an essential position in our production line, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our rewinding process while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Rewinds paper under correct tension to produce correct size reels with good reel build and minimum breaks
- Ensures enough ancillaries and paper for rewinder operation
- Checks that all ancillaries used are of acceptable quality
- Operates crane to transport reels and shafts to and from the rewinder
- Operate clamp truck to bring reels to rewinder and take finish goods reels to staging area
- Visually checks quality of paper to ensure no deviations from standard
- Achieves required production rates without compromising on quality or producing excessive rejects material
- Records keeping: completes all necessary production records neatly and signs off at the end of the shift
- Housekeeping: keeps rewinder and surrounding area clean
- Periodically cleans the rewinder and surrounding area
- Maintains the rewinder and associated equipment in a safe and efficient condition
- Attends to autonomous maintenance
- Reports any maintenance required to team leader
- Adheres to all company rules, safe work procedures, and internal departmental procedures concerning health and safety
Requirements
- Relevant experience in rewinding or similar process
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment as required
