About the Role

The Fleet Fitter is responsible for the professional installation, maintenance, and removal of vehicle tracking and fleet management equipment for MIX, Power fleet and GPS clients in Klerksdorp. This role requires a skilled technician to ensure installations meet Company standards, manufacturer specifications and safety equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts fault finding, repairs, and routine inspections
• Attends breakdowns or service calls when required
• Ensures all work is accurately documented
• Effectively communicates with clients and internal teams
• Properly uses and cares for tools and vehicles
• Complies with Company procedures
• Represents GPSIT on-site
• Maintains a high standard of workmanship
• Supports reliable fleet tracking and reporting services for clients

Requirements

• Skills in vehicle tracking and fleet management equipment installation and maintenance
• Experience with GPS tracking units, accessories, and related hardware
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles
• Physical fitness for working at heights and in confined spaces

Qualifications

• Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electronics)
• Relevant certifications or training in vehicle tracking and fleet management equipment installation and maintenance
• Previous experience as a Fleet Fitter or similar role
