Knysna: Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior bookkeeper/Financial Accountant. Duties: Processing of books on accounting software for clients Liaison with clients and SARS Maintaining correspondence files with clients General filing and admin General accounting functions including preparation of monthly management accounts Submission of VAT and EMP returns Processing of payroll monthly Review of Junior bookkeepers work and assist with training if needed Ensuring deadlines are adhered too Performing tax calculations Compilation of Financial Statements (added bonus but not essential) Required Qualifications: Matric with accounting as subject Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification Required Experience: Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in a bookkeeping/accounting role Experience working in Pastel, Sage, Xero. Experience working on Caseware will be beneficial but not essential Skills required: Very strong administration skills Attention to detail Analytical and solution driven, ability to take initiative, problem-solving skills Deadline driven and able to work under pressure Able to take initiative Capable of working independently Good communication and interpersonal skills Excellent command of English written and spoken (Afrikaans beneficial) Practical experience in dealing with SARS Computer literate, excellent skills required on software like Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Sage Accounting, Xero, Pastel and payroll software Must be able to communicate directly with clients in a professional and confident manner Good personal and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met (overtime may be required from time to time but its minimal). Sound understanding of Vat laws and regulations Salary based on qualifications and experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: R14 000,00 – R18 000,00 per month (Salary will be based on experience and qualifications) Work location: Knysna but could be someone from George as well
