Job Description

Hospitality and Outdoor- New Vacancy- Lodge Manager Emerging Wildlife Estate – Komatipoort (Bordering Kruger National Park) We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lodge Manager to oversee the full operations of a new, high-end lodge development. This role combines strategic management, guest experience leadership, and team development, ensuring the lodge delivers exceptional service in a unique wildlife setting. This is a rare opportunity to lead a lodge from its early stages, shaping operational systems, service standards, and guest experiences. The estate will cater to both luxury safari guests and families , offering a blend of elegant accommodation and authentic African experiences. Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a lodge or boutique hotel , preferably in a wildlife or safari environment. Strong operational, financial, and administrative skills. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities. Excellent guest-facing and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a remote environment. Knowledge of hospitality standards , including F&B, housekeeping, and maintenance. Excellent F&B management knowledge, both in a fine dining restaurant and outdoor (Boma) setup. Own vehicle and valid driver’s license. Key Responsibilities Overall Lodge Operations : Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring all departments (F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, guest services) function seamlessly. Guest Experience : Ensure every guest receives a world-class, personalized experience. Engage with guests, handle special requests, and respond to feedback proactively. Team Leadership : Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate staff across all departments. Implement performance management, schedules, and staff development plans. Financial & Operational Management : Oversee budgets, control costs, monitor revenue, and maximize operational efficiency. Property Development & Maintenance : Ensure all facilities are maintained to the highest standard. Work closely with owners and contractors on any upgrades or expansions. Marketing & Sales Support : Collaborate on marketing initiatives, guest acquisition strategies, and special events to build occupancy and lodge reputation. Compliance & Standards : Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, legal regulations, and lodge SOPs. Maintain consistent quality and service standards. Problem Solving & Innovation : Act as the first point of contact for operational challenges, implementing solutions while maintaining high guest satisfaction. On Offer · Salary R 20-30 000 pm · This is a live out position, and the candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodation Starting Date: March 2026
