Our client is looking for an experienced Technician with HVAC experience to join their team in the West Rand, GP. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the installation, servicing, and repair of HVAC & R systems while ensuring compliance with SHEQ requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs as per design specifications within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve defects or malfunctions in a timely manner.
• Comply with appliance standards and industry regulations.
• Inspect and test electrical systems, circuits, and components for HVAC & R applications.
• Clean plantrooms and filters and prepare materials for daily use.
• Reassemble equipment following repairs.
• Adhere to OSHAct, ISO, and other industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and health and safety regulations.
• Identify and address non-conformance issues effectively.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate.
• HVAC/Relevant Trade Test (e.g., Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Trade Test).
• OTTC, ACRA, or N-Stream qualification in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Expertise in chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, split units, cold rooms, freezer rooms, VRF/VRV systems, computer room cooling, packaged units, air handling units, multistage evaporative cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong understanding of electrical and control circuits.
• Certification in safe handling of refrigerant gases (must-have).
• Safety and First Aid training.
• Valid drivers license.
• Access to own hand tools.
• Comprehensive SHEQR and HVAC+R technical knowledge.
• Time management and planning skills.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Accountability and integrity.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Innovation and attention to detail.
