About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Krugersdorp, where you will play a key role in delivering exceptional projects that leave a lasting impact on the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for proposed projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessment to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to evaluate project specifications and requirements.
- Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying any discrepancies and recommending solutions.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, financial forecasts, and variation orders to stakeholders.
- Analyze and negotiate contract terms and conditions with vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and payment applications.
- Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and project teams.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to optimize project outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying for retail and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, cost control, and contract management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
Qualifications
- Professional accreditation from a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, SACQSP) is preferred.
