About the Role
As an Exercise Experience Manager at Virgin Active South Africa, you will play a pivotal role in building dynamic and inclusive communities that inspire members to achieve their wellness goals. You will be the guide, ensuring every member finds the right products, services, and fitness tribes that suit them perfectly. Your purpose is to create fun, personalized experiences that keep our members engaged and coming back for more, while embracing the bold and adventurous Virgin spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention: Scout, attract, and recruit talented Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors, both within and outside the club.
- Team Management & Development: Develop and nurture an all-star squad of Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors, aligning with club FTE and budget needs.
- Community Building & Instructor Support: Foster a sense of belonging among our Group Exercise Instructors through strong communication.
- Delivering Exceptional Group Exercise Experiences: Lead by example, delivering unforgettable group exercise experiences that keep members coming back for more.
- Group Exercise Focus: Manage the group exercise timetable to deliver high-energy, engaging classes that leave a lasting impact.
- Member Social Wellness: Offer comprehensive inductions and promote all our offerings to support each member on their unique wellness journey.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure every group exercise space is functional and inspiring, upholding Health & Safety and Operational Standards.
Requirements
- Matric qualification
- A Recognized Fitness Qualification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years experience within the Fitness Industry
- A minimum of 3 years experience in managing exercise experiences within a health club or similar role
- Exceptional people leadership skills
- Experience in teaching a variety of Group Exercise classes
- Passionate about wellness industry
- Strong team player & collaborator
