About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waiter to join our team at HotelJobs in Lephalale. As a Waiter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required.
- Present menus and explain daily specials or promotions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
- Serve meals and drinks promptly and professionally.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and handle additional requests.
- Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next service.
- Process payments and handle cash or card transactions correctly.
- Maintain a clean and organised dining area.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Upsell food and beverage items to increase sales.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) preferred.
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant, hotel, lodge, or caf is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- POS system experience is beneficial.
