Lichtenburg: PLC Engineer Cement mine

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled PLC / Automation Engineer to design, program, maintain, and optimize PLC-based control systems in our cement processing and mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider or similar).
• Maintain and upgrade PLC, SCADA, and industrial automation systems to ensure reliable plant operation.
• Prepare, update and test logic diagrams, HMI screens, and control strategies.
• Provide technical support during commissioning, process changes, and shutdowns.
• Troubleshoot automation, control system failures, and instrument issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems and industrial networks.
• Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting large-scale automation systems.
• Familiarity with cement plant processes and instrumentation (advantageous).

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or similar engineering discipline.
