About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team at Craven Cottage CC, specifically in our Madikwe lodge. As the leader of our kitchen, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary services, managing our food costs, and leading our staff in providing exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Running the lodge kitchen
- Controlling weekly orders
- Waste and breakages management
- Ensuring the kitchen functions smoothly
- Training staff members and educating them on the menu
- Acting as the leader in the Kitchen
- Ensuring that all orders are placed timeously and within budget
- Creating and costing new menus and recipe development
- Ensuring smooth running of service and quality of food
- Maintaining high standards at all times
- Ensuring that the kitchen is clean and up to standard
- Looking after all equipment and company property
- Undertaking regular audits of all areas within the kitchen and storage
- Maintenance reporting & following up
- Taking time out to meet & greet guests
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Professional Cookery Diploma / Degree
- At least 3+ years’ experience in a similar environment
- Knowledge of different recipes, menus and kitchen equipment, budgets and menu costing
- Knowledge of HACCP standards
- Menu planning and pricing skills
- Fully computer literate
- Excellent cooking techniques and skills
- Fluent in English
- Excellent time management skills
- Able to work under pressure
