? Role Overview
We are urgently seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Manager to oversee financial operations within an underground coal mining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic support to senior management. Prior exposure to coal mining operations is essential.
? Key Responsibilities
- Manage full financial function including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Oversee cost control, capital expenditure, and financial risk management
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
- Support operational teams with financial insights and decision-making
- Monitor and optimize financial performance across mining operations
- Implement and maintain financial systems and controls
- Lead and develop the finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency
? Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 510 years experience in Financial Management
- At least 3 years experience in the coal mining industry
- Strong knowledge of mining cost structures, compliance, and reporting standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid South African drivers license (Code EB/08)
