About the Role
Manpower Group is seeking an experienced Data Centre Manager to oversee the daily operations of our data centre facility in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all systems are running smoothly, maintaining equipment and infrastructure, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and install custom upgrades for clients
- Conduct working methods to ensure zero capacity incidents and maintain agreed PUE levels
- Ensure records, drawings, and schematics of the data centre environment are maintained
- Evaluate best practices for design and maintenance
- Supervise a team of technicians to ensure smooth operation of the facility
- Manage working methods to ensure all SLA and MSA’s are achieved
- Ensure planned and corrective maintenance is carried out according to predefined standards and schedules
- Share knowledge and best practices across all Data Centres by building close relationships with other DC Managers and peers
- Improve current processes, introduce automation, and aim towards simplification
- Manage escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or 3rd party vendors to resolution
- Monitor and alert on all critical components
- Respond to potentially critical situations
- Manage 3rd party vendor management and service delivery
- Participate in network, physical, and cyber security matters
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant data centre experience
- Extensive knowledge of Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems (e.g., cabling, cooling, power)
- Experience with Data Centre KPIs (incident ticket-related matters, time to solve tickets, physical security, infrastructure metrics, staff, safety, overall operations)
- Excellent technical abilities
Qualifications
- Electrical and/or mechanical qualification preferable
- Cabling qualification preferable
