About the Role
The Head Housekeeper is a key position in our Hotel’s management team responsible for overseeing the Housekeeping Department. This role requires a highly experienced individual with excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and a strong ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Housekeeping Department by ensuring cleanliness, cost control, and operational equipment maintenance.
- Conduct room checks, including white glove checks.
- Manage staff according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain prescribed company standards in all areas of responsibility.
- Control costs in all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure total guest satisfaction in areas under housekeeping control.
- Identify and implement staff training schemes to achieve operating standards.
- Analyse occupancy and allocate staff accordingly.
- Maintain operational equipment and work utensils in good working order.
- Ensure timely bedroom servicing to maximize room occupancy.
- Responsible for master keys and security of the rooms and suites.
- Source and contact potential and existing clients to develop and maintain relationships with the Hotel.
- Ensure all Health & Safety measures are in place and checklists are completed monthly.
Requirements
A high school diploma is required. Hospitality certificate or management diploma preferred. At least 46 years experience in a large hotel/resort hotels. Proficiency in hospitality PMS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff. Knowledge of inventory control (linens, uniforms, equipment) and deep cleaning procedures. Capable of lifting and moving items.
