Nelspruit: Junior Automation Engineer

Junior Automation Engineer Nelspruit Requirements: National Diploma / B.Tech (Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering or Process Instrumentation) 03 years relevant experience. Solid understanding of PLC basics, ladder logic, instrumentation fundamentals, sensors, encoders, motors, VSDs. Willingness to travel and get hands dirty onsite. Responsibilities: Draft and implement PLC logic (Phoenix Contact, Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Omron, AB, ABB, etc.) Develop and configure SCADA/HMI interfaces and dashboards. Perform onsite commissioning, FAT, SAT, and system integration work. Troubleshoot automation hardware and comms issues (I/O faults, encoder problems, comms buses, sensors, VFDs, etc.). Interpret electrical diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings. Implement industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, MQTT etc.) Ensure system compliance with safety standards and risk assessments. Prepare documentation (functional specs, manuals, IO lists, as-builts).
