Job Description

A reputable company based in the North requires a Junior Creditors Clerk: DUTIES: Capture, verify, and process supplier invoices accurately and timeously. Match invoices to purchase orders, delivery notes, and contracts. Ensure correct VAT treatment and compliance with financial policies. Reconcile supplier statements to the creditors ledger and resolve discrepancies. Maintain updated supplier information and ensure all documentation (banking details, compliance certificates, contracts) is valid. Communicate with suppliers regarding outstanding invoices, payment dates, and queries. Build and maintain professional relationships to ensure smooth operations. Prepare weekly/monthly payment batches (EFT, online banking, or system generated). Ensure payments are authorised according to company approval matrices. Reconcile creditors accounts and investigate variances or long outstanding items. Monitor age analysis and ensure accounts remain within agreed terms. Maintain accurate and organised filing systems (digital or manual). Assist with month end closing processes, including accruals and journals. Support audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations. Process credit notes, discounts, and adjustments where applicable. Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies, and financial procedures. Flag irregularities, duplicate invoices, or potential fraud. Maintain confidentiality and data integrity at all times Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to resolve invoice or delivery issues. Track and follow up on outstanding purchase orders or missing documentation. Assist with supplier onboarding and compliance checks. REQUIREMENTS: Matic 2 years experience Sage pastel experience essential English Speaking
