About the Role
The Project HSE Manager is a critical role that oversees all health, safety, and environment (EHS) functions for the project, ensuring compliance with Orion’s Project Governance Plan (PGP), Project Execution Plan (PEP), and Project Execution System (PES). This position requires a strong leader to develop and implement measures for in-depth site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards early. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading investigations into incidents, near-misses, and accidents, using root-cause analysis and clear corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation of the OM HSE Zero Harm System
- HSE Advisor to the Project team on all related HSE requirements
- Advisor on all legislations: Compliance Appointments Reporting Auditing Records Inspections
- Administering safety communication across the project site, including:
- HSE awareness
- Daily progress and performance reporting (HSE notice boards)
- Weekly, monthly, and other regular HSE reporting within progress reports
- Proactive HSE initiatives/focus areas/practices
- Developing and administering safe work method statements within all work packs
Requirements
- Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Mining Engineering
- Certifications like SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, MHSA, Legal Liability, or ISO 45001/14001 training
- Certification/accreditation in HSE auditing (advantageous)
