Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Concrete Foreman
Location: Olifantsfontein, Gauteng
Industry: Civil & Structural Construction
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: Market-related (Negotiable depending on experience)
Hire Resolves client is seeking a Senior Concrete Foreman to manage concrete works across complex building and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for all on-site concrete activities including shuttering, steel fixing, pouring, and finishing ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and production.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise concrete crews (shutter hands, steel fixers, and finishers) on daily tasks.
- Interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules.
- Coordinate concrete pours, including formwork inspections and slump checks.
- Enforce site safety protocols according to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHS Act).
- Track and report on progress, resource usage, and potential delays.
- Liaise with Site Agents, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
- Ensure proper curing of concrete structures to avoid cracking and structural defects.
- Manage material requirements and daily concrete volumes.
- Conduct toolbox talks and maintain discipline on-site.
- Complete site documentation, including pour reports, diaries, and incident logs.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Trade Certification in Carpentry, Concrete, or Civil Construction (e.g. NQF Level 4 or higher).
- Minimum 5 years experience in concrete construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/foreman role.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural engineering drawings.
- Strong people management and site coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel and work in rural or remote project locations if required.
