Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to join our team at a luxurious five-star hotel in Guernsey, British Channel Islands. Our hotel boasts two restaurants, a celebrated afternoon tea lounge programme, and cocktail bar, with harbour views that belong on a postcard. We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of building a great F&B operation and creating an environment where people want to come to work, learn, and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full Food & Beverage operation: brasserie, Indian restaurant, afternoon tea service, banqueting, and cocktail bar
- Recruit for attitude and potential, coach, develop, and create genuine career pathways
- Build an environment where team members feel valued, supported, and proud of what they do
- Rethink menus to feature Guernsey’s exceptional produce, build a drinks programme with real identity, and create experiences that draw locals as well as hotel guests
Requirements
- Proven experience in F&B management within quality 4 or 5-star food-led hotels
- Genuine track record of building, developing, and retaining strong teams
- Ability to create an environment where people want to come to work, learn, and grow
- Leader who coaches rather than directs, and celebrates team’s success as their own
- Strong financial acumen: understanding margins, labour costs, and how to protect profitability without compromising quality or burning out your people
Qualifications
- Proven experience in F&B management within quality 4 or 5-star food-led hotels (required)
- Genuine track record of building, developing, and retaining strong teams (preferred)
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary plus monthly service charge. 20 days holiday rising with service. Meals on duty. Award-winning learning and development programmes. Enhanced family leave. Employee Assistance Programme.
