About the Role

The Operations Executive (Exco) role is a critical position in our retail industry organization, responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic growth at regional and branch levels. The successful candidate will be an experienced senior manager with a strong background in operations management, retail, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving operational excellence and ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the business at regional and branch levels.
  • Maintaining focus on improving operational procedures and processes by leveraging strategic insights and technological integration.
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight of operations, focusing on continuous improvement in business processes, customer service, and profitability.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing regional managers and other key operational staff.
  • Ensuring that all branches are fully staffed, with appropriate training and performance management systems in place.
  • Monitoring operational costs, revenue performance, and ensuring the business stays on budget.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to improve cost-efficiency and profitability across all regions and branches.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving initiatives to enhance operational performance, streamline processes, and leverage technology for better results.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety, security, and environmental regulations across branches.
  • Taking corrective actions where necessary and ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the operations are both efficient and scalable, while also contributing to profitability.
  • Ensuring that all sales teams across regions are achieving or exceeding monthly and yearly sales targets.
  • Overseeing and monitoring service levels across all branches, working with regional managers to implement corrective actions when performance falls below company benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Only open to Namibian citizens and permanent Namibian residents.
  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration, retail management, marketing, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
  • An MBA (Master of Business Administration) or similar advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Alternatively, a degree in construction and general management or a related discipline with significant operational management experience will also be considered.
