Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Officer to oversee HR functions for approximately 200 employees across two companies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, task-oriented individual with the ability to work independently while building strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Administration:
- Oversee general HR administration including documentation, filing, and updating employee records.
- Manage company contracts: drafting, issuing, amendments, and monitoring fixed-term contracts.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, labour law, and company procedures.
Recruitment & Selection:

Manage end-to-end recruitment processes: advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, onboarding, and induction.
Employee Relations & IR:
- Manage conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, grievances, and CCMA hearings.
- Facilitate retrenchments, dismissals, and contract terminations.
- Implement performance management processes, employee coaching, and counselling.
Training & Development:
- Conduct skills audits and hold quarterly skills committee meetings.
- Manage ATR/WSP reporting and submissions.
- Facilitate employee training and development initiatives.
Employment Equity & Compliance:
- Facilitate and monitor employment equity plans and quarterly committee meetings.
- Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, POPI, EEA, company policies, code of conduct, and bargaining council agreements.
Health & Safety:
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
- Manage inspections, services, and incident investigations.
- Facilitate Health and Safety committee meetings and IOD submissions.
Requirements:
- Proven HR experience managing 200+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of IR, conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and employment law.
- Experience with ATR/WSP submissions, employment equity planning, and IOD claims.
- Proficient in VIP and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
- Task-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with the ability to work independently.
