We are seeking a talented and motivated R&D Polymer Scientist to join our clients research and development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing polymer materials for various applications. This role requires a strong background in polymer science, materials science, organic chemistry, and analytical techniques.

Key

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of new polymers and polymer-based materials tailored for composites and coatings applications.
• Develop innovative formulations to enhance performance, durability, and sustainability of polymer products.
• Conduct experiments to optimize polymer properties such as mechanical strength, thermal stability, chemical resistance, and processability.
• Manage and mentor a team of chemists, technicians, and other R&D staff.
• Assign tasks, set project goals, and ensure timely delivery of R&D objectives.
• Plan and execute R&D projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and marketing, to ensure successful product launches.
• Assist in the preparation and management of the R&D budget, including forecasting and cost control.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers, addressing polymer-related challenges and inquiries.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and market trends.
• Collaborate with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners to leverage external expertise and resources.
• Prepare technical reports, patents, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications:
– PhD in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
– 5-7 years of experience in polymer research and development
– Strong understanding of polymer synthesis, characterization, and processing
– Proficiency in analytical techniques such as FTIR, NMR, GPC, DSC, TGA, and SEM
– Experience with polymer processing techniques such as extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding
– Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
