Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Head/Executive Chef for a prestigious luxury hotel group based in Plettenberg Bay. This is an outstanding opportunity for a creative and driven culinary professional to lead a high-performing kitchen team in a world-class hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all kitchen operations across the property, ensuring consistency and excellence in food quality and presentation
-
Design and implement innovative, seasonal menus aligned with the property’s culinary standards and guest expectations
-
Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen brigade, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
-
Manage kitchen financial performance, including stock control, food cost analysis, and budget adherence
-
Monitor and maintain hygiene and safety standards in line with health regulations and company policies
-
Work closely with management to align culinary offerings with overall guest experience strategy
-
Ensure supplier relationships and procurement processes meet the required standards of quality and efficiency
Requirements:
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior culinary leadership role within a 4 or 5-star establishment
-
Proven track record in innovative menu design and execution
-
Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills
-
Sound understanding of kitchen financials including food costing and stock management
-
High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail
-
Formal culinary qualification preferred
-
Willingness to live on-site and work flexible hours
