About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable automotive manufacturing employer for an Electrical Quality Engineer to join their Quality Assurance team, with a focus on purchased electrical components and harnesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle electrical components perform consistently to specification throughout the full lifecycle of each component.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage qualification programmes for new part introductions
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes of part deviations and implementing corrective actions across all lifecycle phases
- Test and evaluate electrical parts in line with defined specifications
- Provide technical expertise on complete electrical parts with regard to material and functional performance
- Initiate design improvements for complex issues related to electrical components and harnesses
- Support quality assurance activities within the purchased parts environment
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within a manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle components, including their function, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
- Strong technical knowledge of motor vehicle harnesses and electrical components
- Proven application of quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels, both internally and externally (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities autonomously
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice
- Valid drivers licence
