Maintenance Fitter

Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance functions to ensure that the machines and factory remain well looked after.
• Maintenance checks on chillers, cooling towers and compressor.
• Repairs, maintenance alterations when required or requested.
• Welding and fabrication of new equipment and machinery.
• Operate lathe and milling machine.
• Building maintenance and repairs.
• Documented weekly checklists to be filled in.
• Report any detected health and safety concerns immediately.
• Clear evidence of good house-keeping practices are to be visible upon entering the maintenance department.
• All like type items to be stored in a traceable and organised manner.
• Ensure the production is running efficiently and effectively as a result of a highly maintained factory.
• Continuously try to seek out methods to help preventative maintenance
• Establish root causes of breakdowns.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Trade Tested Fitter and Turner.
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
• Experience in a maintenance environment.
• Experience in steel fabrication and sketch up own design.
• Arc welding experience.
• Own transport required.
• Hydraulic experienced (Read and interpret drawings).
• Injection moulding experience advantageous.
