• Diploma in Logistics (advantageous) or Warehouse Management or related field (minimum).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipping and logistics in a manufacturing environment.
• Up to 3 years should be at Supervisory level.
• Computer Literacy (Basic MS Office; and SAP, ERP Systems and other job-specific software systems)
• Knowledge of business principles, practice and procedures.
• Communication skills (both verbal and written).

Shipping Operations and Administration

• Develop and execute shipping plans.
• Align agreements and improvement projects with logistics strategy, budget, and regulations.
• Coordinate with transport service providers for vehicle allocation and loading.
• Optimize deck-space and load-mass utilization.
• Plan shipments according to customer requirements.
• Maintain integrity of goods in transit.
• Ensure just-in-time (JIT) and Kanban supply processes.
• Manage invoicing and shipping documentation.
• Handle export administration as per regulations and Incoterms.
• Process and capture shipping data daily.
• Supervise truck and container loading per standard procedures.

Warehouse Operations

• Develop and implement policies for warehouse and shipping improvements.
• Ensure warehouse security to minimize damage or loss.
• Verify product receipts and timely SAP transaction postings.
• Manage confirmation and receipt of finished goods.
• Conduct cycle and month-end inventory counts for accuracy.
• Maintain FIFO stock rotation and ensure product preservation.
• Perform inspections, audits, and administrative tasks.
• Address inventory discrepancies, stock-outs, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee off-site storage and related logistics.
• Maintain buildings, tools, and facilities.
• Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge in inventory control.

Compliance

• Operate within company controls and procedures.
• Identify and monitor departmental risks.
• Maintain a risk register and report discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations to prevent wasteful expenditure.
• Update SOPs and enforce safety practices in line with OSH Act standards.
• Ensure staff adherence to SHEQ policies.
• Monitor and reduce exposure to hazardous environments per health and safety standards.

Customer Service Management

• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
• Represent the company in stakeholder meetings.
• Identify and solve problems with integrity.
• Report on stakeholder matters to management.
• Ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements in stakeholder interactions.
• Staff Supervision
• Ensure employees have signed performance agreements.
• Conduct quarterly performance appraisals.
• Identify staff development needs and implement action plans.
• Provide ongoing training and development.
• Address employee relations issues fairly and promptly.
• Cost and Financial Control
• Contribute to budget planning.
• Promote efficient use of financial and other resources.
• Control overtime within budget limits.
• Approve purchases within authorization levels.
