Job Description
Duties include:
- Supervise workshop staff and daily operations
- Manage vehicle servicing, breakdowns, and downtime
- Ensure quality control and workshop safety compliance
- Manage stock, tools and parts procurements and procedures
- Implementation of new systems
- Management of administration such as invoice capturing, stock control
- Management of policies and procedures
- Oversee licensing, trailer inspections, and COFs
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 5+ years experience in a transport or mechanical workshop
- 3+ years in a management role
- Strong technical knowledge of trucks and trailers
- Valid Code EC/EC1 drivers licence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Available for after-hours support when needed
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Hands-on and solution-driven approach
- Knowledge of workshop safety and regulatory compliance
- Stock and tool management experience
