Job Description

The opportunity Were looking for a detail-driven Bookkeeper to manage daily cashbooks, creditor processing (local & international), payments, reconciliations, statutory submissions and month-end close across the group. Youll keep bank, card and supplier accounts precise, support audits with robust documentation, and ensure deadlines (e.g., reconciliations and month-end by the 12th working day) are met consistently. What youll do Import, update and reconcile all bank and credit card cashbooks daily; prepare bank reconciliations by the 12th working day. Prepare weekly payment schedules for CFO review and load approved payments in Xero and FNB; manage month-end, ad hoc and dividend payments. Capture and verify supplier invoices against budgets and approvals; reconcile supplier statements; present monthly creditor age analysis. Handle foreign payments: capture invoices, prepare BOP forms, coordinate currency deals and submit payment summaries. Own month-end close tasks (bank/creditor/debtor reconciliations, commissions, supplier invoices, corporate cards/Hubdoc checks, GL and loan updates). Manage statutory and compliance submissions (BOP, CIPC annual returns; assist with BEE). Provide full accounting support for a related entity (e.g., reconciliations, payments, supplier processing) and assist with audit documentation. Tools youll use Xero Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) What youll bring Sharp attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organisation and time management Professional, proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders Why this role? Youll play a central role in a high-trust finance environment, owning core processes end-to-end and partnering closely with leadership to keep the groups finances running smoothly. The offer will be market related in line with your qualifications, skills, and experience. The role can offer up to R30 000 per month for candidates who are graduated, are an exact fit and require minimal additional training or oversight.

Job Description

Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a National Senior Certificate with a tertiary Bookkeeping/Accounting qualification (NQF 5) Minimum 35 years bookkeeping/finance admin experience Sage, Pastel, and Excel proficiency are essential Demonstrated attention to detail Experience in agriculture/lab/food testing is an advantage Must have knowledge of stock control and project costing Demonstrated strong organisational and administrative skills, with effective communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Must have the ability to maintain high integrity and confidentiality Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (Read, Write, Speak) The successful candidate will be responsible for: Capturing and maintaining accurate financial records (Sage/Pastel). Managing petty cash and filing of financial documents. Handling accounts payable and receivable, including POs, invoices, payments, and reconciliations. Preparing debtor and creditor ageing reports. Supporting management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Tracking income from laboratory testing and agricultural services. Assisting with audits and providing supporting documents. Managing procurement verification and inventory reconciliations. Administering reimbursements, travel claims, and leave records.
