Bookkeeper Debt Counselling Group of Companies Location: Garsfontein, Pretoria East Start Date: 1 February 2026 Type: Full-Time | Office-Based About the Role Our client, a well-established debt counselling group of companies, is seeking a mature and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the financial functions of several entities, including a trust and a debt collection company. Because the organisations operations and client interactions are conducted in Afrikaans, full professional proficiency in Afrikaans is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping capability up to Trial Balance, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently in a structured, detail-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities General Bookkeeping Complete full bookkeeping functions up to Trial Balance for multiple entities Manage invoicing, debtors, creditors, cash books, and payments Perform monthly reconciliations: Bank accounts Loan accounts Petty cash Debtors & creditors Maintain and update the fixed asset register Debt Collection Company Responsibilities Process monthly payments to clients from trust account funds Capture transactions on AJS Flow and AJS Hosted systems Prepare and send monthly client invoices Compliance & Administration Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns Complete annual Workmans Compensation submissions Assist with the SETA submission Handle CIPC Annual Returns and Beneficial Ownership declarations Ensure renewal of all insurance policies, including: Short-term insurance Public indemnity SHA cover Commercial crime policy Renew the annual B-BBEE affidavit Prepare the required documentation for the Annual Department of Labour audit Ideal Candidate Profile Mature, steady, and reliable High attention to detail Comfortable working in an office-based, structured environment Strong communicator, especially in Afrikaans Able to manage multiple entities and deadlines with accuracy Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12 Proven bookkeeping experience up to Trial Balance Proficiency in Sage Pastel Express Experience with AJS systems (advantageous) Experience working across multiple entities, including a trust Good understanding of SARS , CIPC , SETA , and compliance-related reporting (advantageous) Strong reconciliation and organisational skills Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Fluent in Afrikaans (spoken and written)
