About the Role
Hire Resolves Client is seeking for the perfect candidate in the Solar Renewable Energy Industry, specifically for a Pr Electrical Engineer IPP Project Developer and Manager role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, project development experience, and a proven track record of managing projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to produce designs using CAD software (AutoCAD and Microgrids)
- Design solar plants using Helioscope or similar PV design systems
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cash flow
- Produce detailed quotes and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) with detail
- Familiarize with Eskom standards and processes
- Experience in HV, MV, and LV installations
- Strong negotiating skills
- Prepare and present proposals
- Generate Project BoQ
- Procure equipment
- Manage implementation of small and utility-scale projects
- Ability to develop Utility Scale projects
- Knowledge of South African Engineering standards
- Understand the OHS Act
- Strong leadership skills
- Must have own vehicle and drivers license
- Willing to travel
- Willing to be away from home for extended periods of time for projects
- Good problem-solving skills, Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work meticulously and ensure accuracy in designs and calculations
- Good communication skills both verbally and written
- Ability to be a team player
- Keep abreast with the latest solar technology trends
- Conduct applied research work in order to initiate process changes
- Assume responsibility for engineering discipline design as representative of the operational teams in projects
- Direct and co-ordinate aspects of the project cycle to ensure optimum performance according to business requirements, company objectives, and sound engineering practice
Requirements
- Minimum BSc in Electrical Engineering
- 1 – 3 Years design experience in a work environment
- Minimum of 3 years in management position
- Experience in Renewables
- Microgrid experience required
- Project development experience required
- IPP Project development and Implementation (Added advantage)
- Registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr. Eng) (ECSA)
Qualifications
- Relevant registration certificate as Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
