Company in Pretoria is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team.

Duties:

1. Processing of day-to-day transactions, bank entries, suppliers invoices, and customer invoices as well as journal entries.
2. Preparing the monthly / bi-monthly VAT returns and submitting them.
3. Knowledge of Pastel Partner, Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
4. Some knowledge of Pastel Payroll will be beneficial but is not mandatory.
5. Good working knowledge of the Companies Act and Income Tax Act.
6. Knowledge of VAT and Employees Tax and related items (COIDA/ UIF).
7. Knowledge of Easy File and SARS E-Filing.
8. The candidate must come from an accounting practice background Very important.
9. The candidate must be able to perform under pressure with the understanding of several deadlines.
10. Knowledge of Tax will be a definite advantage: a. Completing and submitting annual tax returns; b. Knowledge of E-Filing is very important; c. Ensuring compliance of clients with SARS legislation; d. Corresponding with SARS regarding tax matters.

Qualifications A degree or diploma is not a requirement but the level of experience will be the determining factor; at least three years in an accounting practice / firm.
