Litigation Legal Secretary

Job Summary
- Document preparation:
– Drafting and formatting legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, briefs, memoranda, and discovery requests.
– Proofreading documents for accuracy and compliance with legal formatting standards.
-Compiling and organizing legal documents within case files.
- Case management:
– Opening new case files, recording relevant details, and updating case management systems.
– Tracking deadlines, court dates, and important milestones in litigation cases.
– Maintaining detailed case files with proper organization and indexing.
- Scheduling and Communication:
– Scheduling court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and conferences.
– Communicating with clients to provide updates on case progress and gather necessary information.
– Contacting opposing counsel and other parties to coordinate legal matters.
- Administrative Tasks:
– Scheduling court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and conferences.

MINIMUM CRITERIA:
- Proficient typing and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Communication skills: Clear and professional verbal and written communication with clients, attorneys, and opposing counsel. (Afrikaans & English)
- Legal knowledge: Basic understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules.
- Valid Driver`s License / Own Transport
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience
